IVY BELLE JACKSON

Ivy Belle Jackson was born on 11 July 1911 in Mackenzie, Saskatchewan to Edward George Jackson (1871-1928) and Lucy Beale (1871-1963). Ivy had seven siblings, Gwendoline Belle (1894-1938), Evelyn Bell (1(896-1954), Edith Bell (1898-1975), Thomas Bell (1899-1955), Edward Bell (1905-1967), John Bell (1906-1962) and Lucy Bell (1908-2001). The four oldest children were born in Newport, Monmouthshire and the four youngest in Mackenzie, Saskatoon.

The family moved to 1121 Ave F North, Saskatoon in 1913 and Edward Sr found work first as a carpenter and then as a construction foreman for the Saskatoon Power House.

From 1916-1931 Ivy lived with her family at 622 32nd St. She worked in the public library from 1927 until she married Reginald James Pierce in about 1931. Reginald was born on 25 July 1909 in Devonport, Devon, England to James Robert Pierce (1876-1932) and Clara Elizabeth Whitehand (1876-1964).

Reginald studied divinity at University of Saskatchewan and was ordained in 1934. Reginald was successively, priest in Colinton, Alberta, Rural Dean of Grand Pairie, Rector of South Saanich and ultimately Bishop of Athabasca. He and Ivy divorced. Reginald died 11 January 1992 in Victoria, British Columbia and Ivy died around 2000 also in British Columbia.
