JULIA GERTRUDE LAY née BURBANK
Julia Gertrude Burbank was born on 25 May 1885 in Danville, Quebec to Charles Frederick Burbank (1860-1933) and Jenine C (Jennie) Brady (1866-1938). Her siblings were: Merrick Frederick (Pat) (1888-1949), Lillie May (b 1889) and Frederick (b 1903). Julia was raised in Danville.
In 1911 Julia was a teacher, boarding with the Seguin family in Beauharnois, Quebec. She married Everett Alfred Lay there on 27 September 1911. Everett was born on 6 January 1886 in Montmorency Falls, Quebec to Alfred Francis Lay (1832-1894) and Belle Doddridge (1857-1889). His siblings were: Warren Elwin (1879-1884) and Ethel (1881-1881). In 1901 the Lay family was living in Danville.
Julia and Everett had three children: Everett Alfred (1913-1913), Everett Jr (b 1915) and Frances (b 1917). In 1916 the family was living at 834 6th Ave North in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and Everett was employed as a fire insurance adjuster. In 1918 they were at 311 9th Street East and Everett was manager of Saskatoon Adjustment Bureau. By 1921 the family had relocated to Regina Beach, Saskatchewan. In 1941 Julia and Everett were living in Regina, Saskatchewan and in 1948, Freeport, Illinois.
