ALBERT ERNEST KENNEDY
Albert Ernest Kennedy was born on 6 February 1889 in Knockbreck, Londonderry, Ireland to William Kennedy (b 1851) and Margaret (b 1863). Albert had six siblings, Joseph (b 1883), Jennie L (b 1885), William H E (b 1887), Andrewina (b 1892),Annie W S (b 1895) and Alice R (b 1897). Albert’s father was a farmer.
Albert left Ireland aboard SS ‘Columbia’, sailing from Londonderry to New York and arriving on 12 March 1912. He gave his occupation as ‘grain buyer’.
On 3 September 1915, Albert enlisted in the CEF with service no 472415. His occupation was grain buyer. He gave his mother in Ireland as his next of kin.
In September 1918, Albert was drafted whilst living in Otter Tail, Minnesota, USA. At this time he worked as a grain buyer for Monarch Elevator Co of Minneapolis, Minnesota. He again gave his mother in Ireland as his next of kin.
Nothing further could be found about Albert.
On both military records, Albert signed as ‘AJ Kennedy’ so there is some doubt that this is the quilt signer.
This family tree can be found on Ancestry under the title 3rd Ave Kennedy Tree.
