LAVINIA BARBOUR

Lavinia Banks was born on 14 September 1892 in Featherstone, Yorkshire, England, the daughter of Samuel Banks & Lavinia Chivers. She had one sister, Francis Alice and six Brothers, Samual, Joshua, Frank, John Edward, Albert & George Harold.

She emigrated to Canada via Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on SS ‘Meriou’. She married John Barbour (b 4 July 1890 in Hastings, Ontario, Canada) in Brandon, Manitoba on 17 February 1917.

By 1920 Lavinia &John were living on 6th St, Saskatoon and John had started his career as a conductor for CPR. They had four children, John E (1917-2004), Dorothy Vene (1919-2013), Frederick (1922-2000) and Miriam Eileen (1927-1932)
